>{n0t3}creat.e/0r.5 “There have been a couple times when I’ve thrown in the towel, but I always seem to end up continuing on and chipping away at life with this project called “Turtle Rock.” Good Free was born out of one such low point. My plans for life were sorta dissolving away. The original idea for Vol. 2 and an EP called Turtle Funk were being completely scrapped, picked apart and f***** with too much. We were trying to get a new batch of shows going, but nothing sounded right, plus some other personal hurdles just sorta made me give up on the idea of a group. I went back to working on things alone, just me and my computer and the frustration got me to the point of like “no more music.” But eventually, as I always do, I came back to it and found I had a couple pretty neat little tunes assembled. So I slapped them together and released it. I figured it’s not perfect, and it isn’t highly conceptual or horribly intentional, but it’s at least true. It part of the process. Not everything I make can be perfect or how I planned but it’s a good lesson and a good exercise in letting things go, setting it free and releasing the frustration and pain and stuff. Good and Free! I like the album overall it has some great moments.” -Liam
